Angelique Delarazan - Junior Specialist
Angelique is interested in utilizing naturalistic paradigms to better understand how memory works in the real world, and how it is represented in different neural networks. She is also interested in understanding the underlying causes, such as memory intrusions and distortions, that influence falsely remembering or misremembering information when events are being reconstructed during recollection.
Angelique attended Napa Valley Community College, where she earned an A.A. in Psychology, A.S. in Social and Behavioral Science, and A.S. in Natural Sciences and Mathematics. She then transferred to UC Davis, and received her B.A. in Psychology and minor in Human Development. Much of her research experience began with working as an undergraduate research assistant in both the Dynamic Memory Lab (DML) and Attitudes, Groups, and Identities (AGI) Lab, where she helped develop experiments, collected and analyzed data, and completed an honor's thesis under the supervision of Alison Ledgerwood. |
Now, as a Junior Research Specialist, she collaborates with postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and other research assistants on multiple different projects. Her managerial responsibilities includes helping develop new behavioral and fMRI experiments; working with postdoctoral researchers and graduate students to setup, collect, and analyze pilot data in order to determine the effectiveness of various experiments; operating MRI scanner for collection of brain imaging experiments; recruiting, prescreening, and scheduling participants for behavioral, fMRI, EEG, and aging studies via subject pool system, email, and phone; mentoring and training thirty undergraduate research assistants and encouraging collaboration between them; and attending research conferences including Cognitive Neuroscience Society (CNS), Bay Area Memory Meeting (BAMM), and Multi-University Research Initiative (MURI) to help garner ideas for future projects.
Outside of the lab, Angelique likes visiting her family and friends in the Bay Area, editing videos, and exercising.
